About Us

Situated in north Co. Waterford, at the foot of the Comeragh Mountains in the picturesque village of Rathgormack, the Hiking/Community Centre is a purpose built approved hostel with accommodation for 22 people (special arrangements for larger groups of over 70 can also be made). The hostel and hiking centre are the ideal locations for exploring the many attractions of north Waterford, including Crotty’s Lake, Coumshingaun Lake, The Mahon Falls, and the Nire Valley in the Comeragh Mountains.
The community centre is the base for a wide range of community groups and activities ranging from toddler group for the youngest members of the community to cards and other sports activities for the adults. The centre is also available for community gatherings, with catering facilities available.
The hostel and hiking centre is also the venue for mountain rescue in the south east. Our indoor climbing wall attracts mountaineering clubs and climbers from all over Ireland.
